Born on (Christmas Day) December 25, 1931 to the late Carl and Grace (Bowman) Meyers, she was the eldest of two daughters. Carol grew up in Parkville and Carney, both suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. As an adult she spent her first years of married life in Maryland before relocating to the Phillipsburg, NJ area, where she made her home for 40 years.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who immensely enjoyed the company of her family. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, cooking and travel. She is a past president of the Amvets Women’s Auxiliary of Easton, PA where she volunteered many hours to charitable causes.
She is survived by her loving children, 4 sons, Jerry Otto and his wife Celine of St. Thomas, USVI, Robert Otto Sr. and his wife Linda of Laceyville, PA, Douglas Otto and his wife Catherine of Poughkeepsie, NY, Brian Otto Sr. and his wife Zuzanna of Phillipsburg, NJ and a daughter Melody (Otto) Dancy and her husband James of New Bern, NC., a sister Dorothy Stebbing of Norfolk, NE, 15 grandchildren Bryan Otto of USVI, Emma Vaillant of Johns Island, SC, Robert Otto Jr. of Meshoppen, PA, Christa Bubba of Bath, PA, Shawn Otto of Stroudsburg, PA, Shane Otto of Poughkeepsie, NY, Brian Otto Jr. of Danielsville, PA, Brandi Otto of Nazareth, PA, Rebecca Wriker of Nazareth, PA, Jonathan Otto of Phillipsburg, NJ, and Ashley Cummings of Douglassville, PA. She is preceded in death by her grandchildren Devon Guzman and Derick Guzman. 14 great-grandchildren Miles McKenzie, Sonny McKenzie, Preston Otto, Pia Bubba, Mia Guadagnino, Jaedon Otto, Kiara Otto, Tyler Kiefer, Zachary Kiefer, Cassandra Otto, Brianna Wriker, Amanda Wriker, Zoey Cummings and Carter Guzman. 2 great-great grandchildren Kylie and Ariana Fazekas.
Interment is private at the request of the family. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
