Dr. A. James "Jay" Beyer III

Jay attended high school at Choate Rosemary Hall. He graduated cum laude from Duke University before attending the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completing residency training at the University of Kansas. He then moved back to North Carolina for an additional year of fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology in Chapel Hill before launching his career with Coastal Radiology Associates.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kristin Blevins Beyer; daughter, Logan Nicole Beyer; son, Jackson Blevins Beyer; parents, Drs. Catherine and Jim Beyer; brother, John Beyer and wife Laura, and their children, Mary John and Thomas Beyer.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 28th at Cotten Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 29th at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Tully, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, located on the Church grounds.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Jay's name to the CarolinaEast Foundation, 2007-B Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560.
