Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alfred and Rosilda (Lambert) Cote, she had resided in New Bedford most of her life before moving to Dartmouth in 2016. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1950.
Mrs. Baker had a successful career in the banking industry starting as a bank teller and retiring as a compliance officer from Bank of Boston after 30 years of employment. She was a realtor at Alferes Realty until the age of 74.
Yvette loved traveling and shopping, especially QVC. She enjoyed the comforts of her home, watching her favorite television and game shows.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine S. Buraczenski and husband Bernard of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Bethany R. Faber and husband Robert of Hopkinton, Alison Y. Borkowski and husband Michael of Swansea, Matthew B. Buraczenski and wife Linda of Holden and Jeffrey E. Baker and wife Tia of Houston; seven great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Faber, Ethan Faber, Nicholas Buraczenski, Adrianna Buraczenski, Celena Buraczenski, Kevin Baker and Olivia Baker; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis A. Baker, her grandson, Kevin Baker and her sister, Kathryn Fitzpatrick.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10am in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
