William served our country during World War II with the 1st Marine Division under Commander Lewis “Chesty” Puller.
He saw combat at Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester and Peleliu where he received the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his son Alan, living in Pawtucket.
A private ceremony will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.
