Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Stephen and Gertrude (Noel) Sayles, she lived in Acushnet in her younger years and resided in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1964.
Susan and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and trips to Disney World. She was a talented artist and painter who displayed her artwork at local arts and crafts fairs. She enjoyed reading, trips to the casinos and playing Slotomania. Most of all, Susan loved spending time with her loving family and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Margaret M. Sauve, William A. Sauve and his wife Michelle and Rebecca A. Viera and her husband David; her grandchildren, Alexander and Patrick Jones, Cameron and Samantha Sauve, Zachary and Tyler Viera; her siblings, Patricia Taylor, Jean Sayles, Amy Place and Stephen Sayles; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Christine Sherman.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Funeral Service, Friday at 10am in the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
