Roger E. Lawrence, 78, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Golen) Lawrence, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Myron and Helen (Rogers) Lawrence.
Roger was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and was a proud Vietnam veteran in the Navy. He worked at Titleist for many years as a Mechanic and loved spending time with his family, which was very important. Roger enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and Twin River, computers, and learning about new technologies. He was a fan of all genres of music and always had a song playing somewhere in his home. Roger loved sharing stories of the time he spent on the USS Charles S. Sperry. He touched many hearts, and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving children, Edward Lawrence and his wife April of Rochester, and Donna Chase of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Emily Chase of Dartmouth, and Brittany Lawrence of CT; step-granddaughter, Brittany Macomber of Fairhaven; his sisters, Barbara Richmond of Dartmouth, Marion Schroeder of Maine, and Cynthia Tardif and her husband Joseph of Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Richard Lawrence.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. His Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00PM.
