Pauline A. Toomey, age 90, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Hathaway Manor after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank Sylvia and Frances Sylvia Ramshead, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the mother of three children Joanne Charon and her husband Richard of Rochester and Joseph P. Mello Jr and his wife Joanne of Dartmouth, and the late Kenneth Mello; five grandchildren Danielle Charon Stroud and Jessica Charon of New Bedford, Amanda Browning and Peter Mello of New Bedford and Jason Ferro of Fairhaven; four great-grandchildren Nathan, Layne, Evan and Jolie; a sister Elsie Dudley of Nantucket and a nephew David Sylvia of Nantucket.
