Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Joseph Emilie and Jeanne Ida (Paquette) Fournier, he was a lifelong resident of the southcoast. Norman was employed as an Industrial Instructor for the Massachusetts Department Corrections for more than 29 years.
Norman loved his Wife and family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing with his grandson and the outdoors. He was a handyman, enjoyed traveling with Rose, having coffee with all his good friends and attending his granddaughters swim meets.
In addition to his loving wife Rose, he is survived by his children, Renee M. Rose and her husband Matthew of Dartmouth and Shawn N. Fournier and his wife Patricia of Berkley; his grandchildren, Sarah I. and Jacob T. Rose and Kallie M., Keltey M. and Keira M. Fournier; his siblings, John Fournier of Fairhaven, Pauline Labonte and her husband Norman of FL and Theresa Fournier of New Bedford. He was the brother of the late Paul Fournier, Andre Fournier, Doris Donovan and Conrad Fournier.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday March 4, 2022, at 11:00am, at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 121 Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford, MA, 02740.
