Norman D. “Danny” Nadeau, age 83 of New Bedford, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Rosalie (DeSouza) Nadeau to whom he had been happily married for 55 years.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Antone N. and Mayme (Cormier) Nadeau and step son of the late Edward Morris. Danny was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He attended school in New Bedford. He served in the United States Navy, during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts.
He was a member of the AMVETS, Post 62, DAV Chapter 7 both of New Bedford, USS Midway Assc., USS Intrepid Assoc., MA Chapter LST Organization, Ft. Taber Military Museum, Vet. Advisory Board for the City of New Bedford, IUOE local 25, NY and the laborers union local 385.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda J. Ryan and her husband Robert of Mashpee and Lisa M. Docca and her husband Kevin of Fairhaven; a son, D.J. Nadeau and his wife Kara of CT; seven grandchildren, Wesley and Mackenzie Ryan, Raegen, Logan and Madison Docca and Brooklyn and Charlotte Nadeau; two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Ryan and Elenor Ryan; and a brother, Joseph R. Nadeau of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anthony L. Nadeau, Gladys Laport Whitehead, Rose Monty and Pauline Zaza.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited.
