Linda L. (Gagnon) Tetreault, 79, of New Bedford passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 in Hathaway Manor after a brief illness surrounded by those who loved her. She was the wife of the late Edmond A. Tetreault.
Born in Acushnet, a daughter of the late Leo J.A. and Lillian I. (Pidgeon) Gagnon, she was a lifelong area resident.
Linda worked at the former Ann & Hope in the baby section. She also helped with bookkeeping for her husband’s business, Buzzard’s Bay Marine & Supply of New Bedford.
Mrs. Tetreault loved animals and over the years was instrumental in the rescue of many animals of all types and especially stray cats. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Linda was a dog mom to many lucky dogs over the years.
Linda was fortunate to have wonderful caretakers that helped her with everyday living. A special thank you to her nieces, Pamela Tietze and Linda Bourgeois.
Her family would like to thank the entire staff at Hathaway Manor. During her stay, their amazing care and compassion will never be forgotten. They made Linda feel more like family than just a patient. Also, the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice gave tremendous comfort to Linda.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and a brother, James Gagnon and his wife Fernanda. She was also a very special Aunt to Sandra Jean Oxendine, Sandra Lee Barboza, and Michael St. Rock.
Her visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 1 p.m. until the time of her service at 3 p.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
