Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Tiago and Evangeline (Ventura) Correia he was a lifelong resident and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Jorge graduated from New Bedford High School and later graduated from New England College of Pharmacy. He also served in the National Guard. Mr. Correia owned and operated Family Pharmacy in New Bedford for 45 years before retiring in 1996.
Mr. Correia was a member of the Greater New Bedford Pharmaceutical Association. He enjoyed bowling, golf, tennis, and enjoyed coaching youth sports.
He is survived by three sons, Michael J. Correia and his wife Judy, Steven P. Correia and his husband Mark Tarone of Folsom, PA, and Mark D. Correia and his wife Joyce of E. Greenwich, RI; a daughter, Sandra J. Correia of Boynton Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Kristin, Michael, Kerry, Jamie, Kyler, Kassi, and Chase; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul M. Correia.
His funeral will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 9 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford.
