Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Jesse and Lucia (Roy) Jordan she was a lifelong resident and a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild.
Gloria attended New Bedford Vocational High School. She worked as a supervisor at Wamsutta Mills. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, Gloria enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Flea markets and yard sales were a weekend must. She also enjoyed working at local auction halls and antiquing with her husband, Russell. Gloria specialized in vintage linens.
Gloria’s family would like to thank the staff at CareOne and Compassionate Care Hospice for their devoted care and support provided to her over the years.
She is survived by a daughter, Tracy A. Jesus and her husband James of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Brandon Jesus and Jared Jesus; a sister, Shirley Bergeron of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Theresa Lowe, Carol Costa, Joyce Rodrigues, Paul Jordan, and Ronald Jordan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
