Florence E. Beaulieu

Florence E. (Goulet) Beaulieu, age 96 of New Bedford, formerly of Acushnet and Fairhaven, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 in Our Lady’s Haven with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Octave J. Beaulieu.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Ida (Letourneau) Goulet, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and attended Kinyon Campbell School. Florence was employed as a tester with Aerovox for over 30 years prior to her retirement in 1988.

Florence loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed working on puzzles, playing cards, reading, Bingo and crocheting.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan Garman and her husband Gary of New Bedford, Diane Sweet and her husband Mark of NH and Anne Giammalvo and her husband Lawrence of Wareham; nine grandchildren, Jason, Tracey, Jennifer, Jessica, Amy, Scott, Carl, Katie and Mark; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Rev. Richard Beaulieu and Vivian Johns; sister of the late Noel Goulet, Yvette Deneault and Claire Brasseur.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
