Eric A. Gonet

Born in Falmouth, the son of David and Madeline (Medeiros) Gonet, he had resided in New Bedford and Fall River before moving to Tewksbury 1 year ago.

Eric was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and the Porter and Chester Technical Institute in Canton.

He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran serving on the Machinery Augmentation Team in Newport.

Eric had worked for the Veterans Administration as a maintenance technician.

Eric enjoyed workouts at the gym, playing basketball with his nephew and spending time with his loving family.

Surviving in addition to his parents; a sister, Cheryl Tremblay of Wareham; a niece and nephew, Mariah O’Malley and Brendon Tremblay of Wareham; an uncle and aunt, Fred and Joanne Gonet of Sarasota, FL; an aunt, Christine Gonet of Fairhaven; a godson and cousin, Matthew Perreira of Somerset; and a cousin, Lisa Nicholas of Fall River.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 8:15am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:15am in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
