David Lee Amaral

David L. Amaral passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 79 in St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born February 18, 1945, he was a retired long haul truck driver and a resident of Acushnet. David was the husband of Elaine N. (Marchessault) Amaral.

He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and a disabled veteran of the United States Army. He was the son of the late Edmund and Florence (Lord) Amaral.

David was a NASCAR enthusiast, loved riding his Harley Davidson and fishing. Above all, he loved his family dearly and enjoyed every moment spent with them. He found enjoyment in eating, especially sweets.

David is survived by his wife Elaine, a son Scott Amaral and his companion Susan Kourafas of Acushnet, a daughter Wendy Couture of New Bedford and his sister Kathy Sylvia also of New Bedford. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Casey Couture and her companion Christopher Lambert of Arizona along with 3 great-grandchildren Claire, Chloe, and Caleb also of Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
