Clarisse B. Doyon

Clarisse B. (Constant) Doyon, 83, of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the New Bedford Healthcare Center in New Bedford. She was the wife of Jerome C. “Jerry” Doyon with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Wilfred and Christine (Morin) Constant, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Doyon was a graduate of St. Anthony High School, class of 1949 and a former Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church.

She loved reading and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband in their motor home. Her favorite destinations were Glacier National Park and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Ronald Doyon and wife Maryanne of New Bedford; two daughters, Janet Haverkampf and husband Joe of Southington, CT and Susan Besse and husband James of New Bedford; two brothers, Robert Constant and wife Rachel of New Bedford and Richard Constant and wife Hedy of Bedford, NH; five grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 9am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5pm. Flowers are welcome. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
