Carl D. Pratt

Carl D. Pratt, age 76, of New Bedford died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at New Bedford Health Care Center after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Gail (Perry) Pratt and loving companion of Mary Pyzik.

Born in Lorain, OH, a son of the late Carl and Elizabeth (Yalik) Pratt, he had resided in Dartmouth for most of his life. Carl was a United States Navy Veteran and had worked as a Pipe Fitter with Acushnet Rubber Company. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and spending time with his family and his dog “Cookie”.

He is survived by a son Carl Pratt and his wife Susan of Dartmouth, a daughter Donna Harvey and her husband Doug of Pascoag, RI, four grandchildren Allison Harvey, and Kaylyn, Taylor and Kassidy Pratt, and seven siblings, Connie Mesko, Dorothy Stefanik, Diane Olah, Julie Kish and Ernie, Jimmy and George Pratt, and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 9 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 pm.
