Antonio Pacheco Silva

Antonio Pacheco Silva, age 83, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Cidalia Maria (Resendes) Silva with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Faial de Terra, St Michael Azores, he was the son of the late Fernando da Silva and Hortensia P. (Melo) da Silva.

Mr. Silva worked as a laborer at the former Warren Brothers, now P.J. Keating of Acushnet for 30 years.

Antonio was a member of the Holy Name Society of Immaculate Conception. He loved farming, animals and taking care of his grape vines.

Survivors in addition to his wife are his children; Walter M. Silva and his wife Paula of No. Dartmouth, Esmeralda M. Durant and her husband Scott of Fairhaven, Hortensia Belchior and her husband Manuel of New Bedford, John R. Silva of New Bedford, Steven R. Silva and his fiancé Jennifer Conlon of New Bedford, four grandchildren; Joshua P. Silva, Jessica L. Silva, Kayleigh E. Silva all of Dartmouth and Cody D. Vieira of New Bedford, a great grandchild, Benjamin P. Silva of Dartmouth, a brother Walter Silva of Dartmouth, a sister Maria L. Lacey of Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Rosa Craveiro , Fernando Silva, Manuel Silva and Dionisia Pacheco.

His visitation will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 5-8pm at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford.
