Alice Maciel

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, a daughter of the late Franco Feliciano and Regina (Costa) Medeiros, she immigrated to the United Sates settling in New Bedford in 1967.

She worked as a Seamstress for Jerry the Tailor, Superior Sportswear, and a local Bridal Shop for many years before retiring. She was a member of Fairhaven Social Day.

She is survived by one son: Moses Maciel and his fiancée Mary Kocur of Dartmouth, three grandchildren, Amanda and Frank Maciel, and Denise Kaplan, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including Hilda Daponte. She was sister of the late Virgilio and Manuel Medeiros.

Her Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in St. John’s Cemetery Chapel, 664 Allen St., New Bedford. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
