William "Bill" Orr

William "Bill" Orr, age 87, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born in Lynnville, Tennessee to the late Robert and Mildred (Doggett) Orr on June 9, 1935. Bill served in the United States Air National Guard for 8 years. He later went on to marry the love of his life, Clara (Croslin) Orr, and start a family. They were married for 63 glorious years. Bill worked as a faithful employee for the Courier-Journal for 40 years before retiring.

In Bill’s spare time, he was a master at woodworking and also enjoyed fishing and Square Dancing. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by one sister Ruth Potter.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Clara Orr; 2 children, Renee Gentry, and Randy Orr (Marlene); 4 grandchildren, Emily Gentry, Ellen Quinn (Anthony), Justin Orr, and Alex Orr; 1 step-granddaughter, Sarah Clark (Will); 1 great-grandchild, Michaela Quinn, 2 step-great-grandsons, Camden Clark and Kyle Clark; as well as nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, 47150.
