Matthew L. Murphy

MATTHEW L. MURPHY, 57, died Thursday, April 30, 2015. The son of Mary Louise (Emly) and the late Perry Edward Murphy, Sr., Matt was born January 9, 1958 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was the former owner of Country Tyme Meat Processing in Corydon and Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 379 in Elizabeth, IN. Along with his father, Matt was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Murphy. Survivors include his daughter, Morgan Murphy; son, Sean Murphy; former spouse, Jill Ward Murphy; mother, Mary Louise (Emly) Murphy; siblings, Perry Murphy, Jr., Tom Murphy, Theresa Attwood (Carl), Julie Cook (Phil), and Jeff Murphy (Shari); and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 10:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. His Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
