Loren M. Byrd

Loren M. Byrd, 87 years of age died Monday February 15, 2016 at Providence Retirement Home where he had resided for 9 years. He was born July 2, 1928 in Crawford County, Indiana to the late Nova and Sylvia (Miller) Byrd and he was the widower of Mary Byrd who died in 2006 after 57 years of marriage. Loren retired after 35 years with the old International Harvester (Navistar) Co. in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Grantline United Methodist Church, the DePauw Masonic Lodge and U.A.W. Local 1336. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Loren was preceded in death by his wife,grandchild Stephanie Byrd and siblings Eldon, Elma, and Owen Byrd and Mary Gayle Hoffman. Survivors include his daughter Linda Davis and husband Wayne, sons Roger Byrd and wife Micki, Gary Byrd and wife Kathy and Kevin Byrd, 8 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren, sister Olive Brown and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2:00 pm until 8:00pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road. Funeral Service 10:00 am Saturday at the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
