Linda L. Pate

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Linda L. Pate of Scottsburg, Indiana, at the age of 69 on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Linda was born on November 4, 1953, to Hubert and Lou (Horn) Swift, who preceded her in death. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who cherished her role as a homemaker. She loved cooking and canning and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Linda's kind and caring nature touched the lives of many who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. Linda is also preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Randall Pate; her daughter, Angela Pate; her sister, Juanita Swift; brothers, Robert Swift, and Stan Swift. She is survived by her son, Michael Pate; two daughters, Kendra Schleicher (Steve) and Julie Lewis (Joe); fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Nathan Swift, David Swift, and Cliffton Swift. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Linda will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service located at 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Following the service, Linda will be laid to rest in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. In memory of Linda, the family suggests contributions be made to The Trevor Project, www.thetrevorproject.org.
