Jessie James Absher

Jessie James Absher; age 90, passed on February 9, 2024. Jessie was born on November 22, 1933 to the late Henry and Rodea (Garland) Absher. Jessie was married to the love of his life of 66 years, Carrie (Napier) Absher, and together they would start a family. After years of service, Jessie retired from W.R. Grace Fertilizing Company. Jessie was a loving husband and father. He was an avid Nascar fan and also enjoyed old cars. Jessie was a man of faith. Once accepting Christ as his personal Savior, nothing could turn him around. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Pekin in Pekin, Indiana. Along with his parents, Jessie is preceded in death by several siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Carrie Absher; his son, Danny Absher; and daughter Nancy Isaacs; along with five grandchildren. A visitation for Jessie will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Pekin, 1145 E. 5th Street, Pekin, Indiana. Following services, Jessie will be laid to rest in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.
