Elisa C. McCrary, age 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Elisa was born in Combs, Texas on July 29, 1934 to the late Reuben and Guadalupe Contreras. She was devoted to Ministry and sharing God's Love. She was a previous member of Graceland Church for 30 years and currently a member of Charlestown Road Southern Baptist Church where her husband was a founder.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by Edmund McCrary; a son, Donald Ferguson; siblings, Reuben Contreras, Frank Contreras, Rebecca Contreras Cortez and Samuel Contreras.
Elisa is survived by six children, Danny (Mary) Ferguson, Deborah (Steve) Kahl, Doris (Frank) Smith, Donna Sherrard, Terry (Cathy) McCrary and Susan McCrary; eighteen grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Rodriguez, Rachel Garcia, Baltazar (Jane) Contreras and Moses (Lupita) Contreras; and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Elisa will be laid to rest in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
