Daniel Dunn

Daniel "Dan" Dunn, age 80, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. Daniel was born in Coatesville, PA. to Ann Bechtel and a handsome stranger. He spent most of his childhood in Pennsylvania until he joined the U.S. Army and moved to Fort Knox, Kentucky. Dan spent his working career on the water as a Barge Captain. He is preceded in death by his Mother; his first wife and the mother of his children, Mary Jane Dunn; and a son, Roger Dunn. Dan is survived by his wife, Jean Dunn; daughters, Dana Ash (Lon), Shannon Greer (Brad), and Kim Newton (James Wolfe); son, Daniel "Dan" Dunn (Kimie); step-children, Karen Lanning (Terry), James Lewis (Penny) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Carol Anderson of PA, Barbara Kinney of PA, Sandy Galloway of TN and Nancy Johnson of PA; and a brother, Wade Bechtel of PA. Dan's wishes were to be cremated with his ashes to be buried in New Albany National Cemetery at a later date. A Memorial Visitation will take place from 12:00pm - 2:00pm Sunday, Nov. 19th with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00pm, Sunday, Nov. 19th at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel.
