Betty Jean Fisher Hauber 88; New Albany Funeral Mass for Betty Jean Fisher Hauber, 88, of The Villages, Florida, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany, including a remembrance to her husband, Harry. Burial will follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Wednesday, May 20, 2015,in New Albany. She was born Aug. 18, 1926 in Louisville, to the late John Stanley and Anna Mae Smith Fisher and raised in New Albany. She was married for some 60 years to Harry William Hauber Jr. who died in January of this year. Betty was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, Daughters of the American Revolution and was a longtime member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Louisville and St. Mark Catholic Church at The Villages. She loved cooking and was a master at crocheting, needlepoint, sewing and knitting. She was a multiple sweepstakes winner at the Kentucky State Fair and a proud golfer with two holes-in-one to her credit. She was a great mom and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include children, Harry William “Billy” Hauber III and wife, Linda, Rebecca Alter and her husband Jeff, Cheri Hauber and his wife, Beth and John F. Hauber and his wife, Eileen; sister, Jo Ann Koehler; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Deborah A. Sublett and two siblings, Audrey Stith and J. Stanley Fisher. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at Kraft Funeral Servide, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
