Barbara Rinker

Barbara Jean Rinker, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on May 3, 2023. Barbara was born on December 28, 1938, in New Albany, Indiana. Barbara was married to the late Marvin W. Rinker and together started their family. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed babysitting anytime she could. Barbara enjoyed many things in her life, but her family was the most important thing to her. Some of the things Barbara enjoyed in her spare time were music and dancing, camping, and being on the water boating. She loved a good game of dice “10,000”, along with trying her luck at the casino playing the slot machines. Every Mother’s Day it was tradition to go to the Racetrack with her family, a tradition in which they will continue in her memory. Barbara enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was an amazing cook and loved canning vegetables from the garden. Barbara was an avid bowler and was one of the original members of the Pioneer Mixed Bowling League. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin W. Rinker. She is survived by her three children, Stephen W. Rinker (Michele), David Allan Rinker (Rhonda), and Vicky Nicholas (Mike); grandchildren, William, Waylon, Becky, Shawna, Josh, Shannon, Jessica, Tory, Hanna, and Madison; great-grandchildren, Dillian, Jaydian, Alexius, Myla, Bryson, Isabella, Savannah, Courtney, Brook, Parker, Hayden, Bentlee Jonas, Loralie, Max, Olivia, Jayla, Jace, Lexi, Cole, Lincoln, and Clark; great-great-grandchildren, Presleigh, Noah, Bryer, River, and Renesmae. A visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A private burial for the Rinker family will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 10:00 AM in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
