It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our diamond, Julia Emilie Morin on July 9, 2020 at the age of 22. She leaves to mourn her sister Genevieve, her mother Joanne, her grandparents, her aunties, cousins, boyfriend Daniel, her dog Reddick, a loving extended family and great friends.
Julia lived her life to the strum of her own guitar, with a deep joy of anything musical, especially guitars and folkpunk. No car ride would be complete without some music playing in the background. She would sing Tom Petty while picking up her morning ice coffee. Her love of music came from an early age, listening to whatever music her grandpa was playing on the stereo during her many visits.
The heart of our Julia was gold. Caring and compassion came from her as easy as breath itself, and she expressed her care with action. Her piercing blue eyes assessed what was needed, and her heart dictated the action, including helping family with medical needs or, her neighbour with groceries. She was willing to work hard and managed three jobs while studying in nursing school.
Our Julia was cherished. During these unusual times we cannot all be together, but we can all hold together the gifts that made Julia special: her extraordinary nature, her willingness to show her care for others, and the amazing gifts of her character. The world is a better place because she shared those gifts with us.
A private burial service has taken place.
