David Dermot Sinnott

Sadly on August 28, 2022, David lost his battle with cancer with his family at his side. David was predeceased by his father Leonard J. Sinnott and his mother Marion A. Sinnott. David is survived by his brothers Patrick (Beverly), and Neil (Suzanne); niece Jennifer Giesbrecht (Gordon); nephews Jeffrey, Erik and Thomas; and several grand nieces and nephews.

David was born in Southport, England on March 16, 1953 and moved to Canada with his family in 1955. His childhood years were spent in Togo, Sask., Grandview, Man., Winnipeg, Man., and Atikokan, Ont. He then returned to Winnipeg where he graduated from High School and subsequently achieved his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba.

After finishing University David began a long career with the Government of Manitoba, where he spent many years in the Surveys and Mapping branch of the Department of Natural Resources. He worked there until he took an early retirement to look after his aging mother.

The family would like to extend a huge Thank You to the staff at Riverview Palliative Care Unit on the 3rd floor for their care and compassion towards David in his final weeks.
