Elizabeth Eileen Sylva, born on August 8th, 1935 in Zion, Illinois, sadly passed away on November 18, 2023 in San Diego, California as a result of a long battle with illnesses. She was a beautiful person with a vibrant soul that will remain with us all forever. First and foremost, Elizabeth was a loving mother to her children Taunya and John that remain with us today. They will always be so proud to have had such a woman of unshakable faith for a mother. Elizabeth's testimony of faith was strong and she served as a volunteer at the San Diego Temple for many years. Elizabeth also worked very hard earlier in life as a nurse, providing comfort and care to terminal cancer patients which helped provide a living for her family. Elizabeth's life following her retirement was simple but meaningful, making sure to let her friends and family feel her warmth. Those that knew her, also knew she could always be relied on to make sure they were eating right, getting their rest, and feeling her love for them.
Elizabeth enjoyed movies, which she collected and watched with an avid interest. She loved to read, sew, and draw. She had a flair for all things creative and could always be counted on for some intricate storytelling that showcased her sharp mind and fantastic imagination.
Her beautiful soul will live on with all of us and we are all richer in spirit for having had her in our lives.
She will be missed, but her memory will live on.
