He was preceded in death by parents, David Alfred and Rose Dalton Dortch; sons, Frank Gerard Dortch and Phillip Dortch; and grandson, Phillip Dortch, Jr.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Drennan Dortch; children, William A. Dortch, Jr. (Mary Jo), Mike Dortch (Elyn), Jeanne Rast (Mike) Donna Turner (Greg, deceased), Julie Cragon (Allen), Robert Dortch (Kathy) and Pat Dortch (Rachel); daughter-in-law, Amy Dortch and Monty Lamb; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, David D. Dortch and Agnes Nixon.
Bill was a graduate of Father Ryan High School and the University of Dayton. He was the founder of Concrete Form Erectors and was a major contributor in creating the Nashville skyline. He was a member of the Nashville Cursillo Movement and St. Henry Catholic Church.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 p.m., with the Rosary recited by the Dominican Sisters at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at St. Henry Catholic Church.
Mass of Resurrection will be conducted by Father Joe McMahon at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Henry Catholic Church.
Active Pallbearers will be Hoyt Harris, Guy Adkins, O’Neal Ellis, Kevin O’Rourke, Larry Parkerson, Jerry Hall, Dwight McIllwain and Donnie Adkins. Honorary Pallbearers: Bruce Saltsman, Terry Cline, Bill Grover, Carl Estes, Buck Overby, Al Thoni and Tom Higgins.
