SWAIN, Susan Moore, age 62, of Nashville, TN, passed away following a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Born November 2, 1950 in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Albert Moore and Bertie Sue Robertson Moore. A devoted wife, mother, professional, and friend, Susan’s was a life spent in service, particularly to family and to those with special needs. She worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for Williamson County Schools for over 20 years. Additionally, she spent the last few summers at Claiborne Hughes Health Center using her skill set to assist the elderly. She encountered life with unyielding faith, wit, and grace—an eternal optimist who always saw her cup as “half-full” regardless of all circumstances. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Lillard Swain; two daughters, Emily Claire Swain of Cane Ridge, TN, and Tracy Cochran and husband Josh Cochran of Cane Ridge, TN; a brother, William Roger Moore of Knoxville, TN; and one grandson, Jacob Wesley Cochran. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday July 20, 2013, two p.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Hughes officiating, placement to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Friday from five to eight p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
