She was born April 23, 1937, to the late Bruin Spurlock and Nettie Laycox. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Derrick; sister, Connie Dabbs and daughter, Catherine M. Derrick.
Mrs. Derrick is survived by daughters, Debbie Reale, Vicky Nolan, Dorothy Barrett (Joe), Jennifer Spiceland, Michelle Banks (Mike), Kelly Carter (Adam) Melissa Smith (Tim), Stacie Timmons (Dustin), Jacqueline Weatherly (Ricky); sons, Joe Derrick (Teresa), David Derrick (Kim) and Phillip Derrick; 35 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, prior to the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., all in St. Matthew Catholic Church with Father Mark Beckman, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Church.
