Rob got his wings on 8/14/22. He was preceded by his beloved sister Laurie, and his parents James and Carolynn Simpson. He is survived by his wife Linda, Brother Pat (Carol) Simpson, and his Sister Barbara Isabel. Nephews Jason Vetter and Justin (Susie) Simpson. Niece Barbara (Blaine) Whited.
Rob worked at CSX Radnor Yard from 1978 until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the IAM union and served as the local chairman and on the e-committee.
He was a die-hard Tennessee Titans fan, a season ticket holder and a Titans founding member.
Rob was so much fun! He will be remembered for being able to make you laugh, not holding back on his opinion, a knack for telling it like it is, and his overabundance of charm, charisma, and stubbornness. He was also kind, loving, caring, generous, thoughtful, and funny as hell. He loved to fish, camp, plant trees and flowers, and play video games. And he loved any and all animals. Rob had a great fun filled life. So don’t cry because he’s gone, be happy that he was here, and be glad that you knew him. Hope your memories of him make you smile or laugh out loud.
In his memory plant a tree and name it Rob. Adopt a pet and name them Rob. Or make a donation to an animal shelter or sanctuary in his name. He would love it. He’ll be out there somewhere, maybe in a sunset, or the sound of your fishing line zing when you get a bite, the chirping of a baby bird in the spring, or in the sound of water lapping on the beach.
