He had a zest for life and never wasted a day. If he wasn’t working or helping others, he was spending time with family and friends. His priorities and joys in life were his children and grandchildren. He never missed ballgames, dance recitals or cross country and track meets.
He graduated from Father Ryan High School with the class of 1965. After graduation he served in the US Army, including a tour in Vietnam. He returned to Nashville and was employed by Nashville Electric Service for 47 years. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion and Rolling Thunder. In his free time he loved riding his Harley Davidson.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Sheila Baltz Quirk; children Kim Quirk, Kristie (Patrick) Clunan, Trey (Holly) Quirk and Scotty Quirk, grandchildren Jack, Sean, and Sydnee Clunan, Kenzie, and Cole Quirk; sisters Julia Lawson, Patty Mayo, Mary (Joe) Craven, brothers Kevin, Tim, and Danny Quirk; many loving brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Eva Quirk and brothers Shawn Quirk and Martin Quirk.
Gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, November 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm at Church of the Holy Rosary, 192 Graylynn Drive Nashville. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Tuesday, November 24th also at Church of the Holy Rosary. Private interment will be held at a later date at Nashville National Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Clunan, Jack Clunan, Sean Clunan, Cole Quirk, Ryan Erwin and Barrett Hobbs. Father Ryan High School Class of 1965 will be Honorary Pallbearers
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to Alive Hospice, Holy Rosary Academy or Father Ryan High School.
