I met Mr BInkley years ago when his son John was a student pf mine at Gladeville.  I liked him at once- he was such a friendly  man.  He once helped us when we had an auction at the school.  No doubt he will be missed by many friends and family.  Rest in Peace, old friend. 

Odell was a truly stand-up man who brought a smile to my face every time I saw him. My Dad felt the same way, and I enjoyed hearing some great stories as we talked about him yesterday. He was a caring man, and a great contributor to his church. The world would be a better place if we had more people like Odell

From the first moment we met Odell, we knew he was someone special! He would drop by for a minute to tell my parents (Gene & Lorease Stangline) hello. He made them & everyone he stopped to see feel like they were a dear friend. The best part is that he meant it. I love the Christmas photo of Odell taking time to greet everyone at the party with a smile. His face & his smile is the Odell  that will remain in our hearts & will stay with us as a reminder that the best way to remember him is to follow the example that he led.  We called him “Sunshine” because he always had a smile & a kind word for others.  We appreciated his prayers & the care he showed. Odell will be missed & remembered with a lot of love! Thank you Odell for making a difference!  We will love you always,💕

My brother and I lived with the Binkley family a few years when they lived in Gladeville. At that time, we were snot-nosed, very ungrateful brats. Over the years I have grown to become grateful for what I was taught, the learning experiences and adventures I had with the family.  Honestly, I will say Dink was  a positive role model, however short a time period,  I had ever experienced. Even now, I can almost hear Mary Evelyn calling his name, "Dinky!"  I was very fortunate to have the association with him and he truly enriched my life.


We are so sorry to hear of the passing of "Dink".
He is gone, but not forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.


I will miss my uncle Odell.  He loved my mom and was the only one who called her “Lillie “.  When she passed he purchased bibles in her name to be left in hotels.  He was a big part of my mother’s family.  

Ann and family. I'm so sorry to learn about your dad. Or, as my mom, Carlene Johnson, and aunt, Maxine Cox, call him "Dinky". They've shared so many stories about knowing him. They go way back and he has the same birthday they do. He was a good man and will be missed by family, friends at Charter, and all who know him. He was a card, always loving a laugh. His laughter will be missed for sure. As will his lunchtime prayers that were so special. Lunch won't be the same without him. Know that you will all remain in my prayers as you go though the coming days and weeks. Prayers for a peace and comfort that can only come from God. 💙

Odell was a wonderful friend to my family, the Stanglines.  We only knew him for a short time at Charter, but felt we knew him a lot longer.  He will be greatly missed!
