Neil Koonce, age 88, of Nashville, TN passed away on March 26th, 2025, at his home. He was born August 9, 1936, in Nashville, TN to John and Maisy (Ross) Koonce. He was a graduate of Central High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Chilton Air Cooled Engines in 2005.
Neil enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, and participating in Volksmarches around the Southeast. He loved travel and history (particularly middle Tennessee Civil War history), and was an accomplished wood carver.
Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Judy Ann (Gregory) Koonce.
Survived by daughter, Pam Koonce (Rick Holley); son, Neil (Jamie) Koonce Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew (Lexi) Koonce, William (Hannah Jones) Koonce; and great-grandson, Bennett Koonce.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a celebration of life from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
