Morgan Carl Mayton Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents Morgan Carl and Ruby Mayton, Sr. and his sisters Mary Burfield and Debbie Mayton his sister-in-law Anita O’Gaye, his brother J.D. Mayton, brothers -in-law Howard Finch, Pete McCarroll, James Rivers, David Phipps, Michael Gay, and Duncan E. Gay.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia. His children Eddie A. McGill (Tommy), Morgan C. Mayton III (Thess) and Melinda Mayton Wray (Frank). His grandchildren Joshua McGill (Desi), Kate McGill, Keith Mayton (Alana), B. Chase Mayton, Cameron Mayton (Katelyn), Jacob Brooks (Alice) and Samuel Wray, great grand-daughter Emma Dean Mayton. His sisters Corrine Finch, Norma Black (Jerry), Erma McCarroll, Marlene Mayton, Susie Rivers and Teresa Phipps. Brothers Paul Mayton (Marjorie), Steve Mayton (Donna), and Phillip Mayton and brother-in-law Doug Burfield.

Carl served in the Air Force from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam conflict. He was also a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Hermitage.

Visitation will be held at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Nashville, TN on Wednesday November 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the burial to follow at 2.
