Mary Elizabeth Cole

Mary Elizabeth Steele Gifford Cole, age 84, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015. Born in Nashville, Monday, July 6, 1931 she is preceded in death by her parents, Wilmoth Alexander and Minnie Mae Hunt Steele; husbands, Marshall Edwin Gifford and Ralph Smith Cole.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her children, Judy G. Carey and her husband, Tom, Gerald "Jerry" Gifford, Mary Eleanor Felts and her husband, Charlie, Linda Joyce McKnight; sister, Neva Louise Hunley; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren.

During her working career, Mrs. Cole worked for Kress on 5th Ave in Nashville and for Rudy Farms Country Sausage Company.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the chapel of Eastland Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Vantrease officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Goodlettsville, TN

Serving as active pallbearers are, Tyron Odom, Ryan Felts, D. J. Elmore, C. C. McKnight, Christian Felts and Tyson Vongsamghanh; Honorary will be Eli Trotter.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Cole at a visitation Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 at Eastland Funeral Home 904 Gallatin Ave. Nashville, TN 37206
