Martha Louise Henry Williams

Martha Louise Henry Williams, age 86 passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. Martha was the youngest of six, was born in Pulaski, TN on December 23, 1937 to the late Joseph W. Henry and Louise Ward Henry. She was married to the late Joe D. Williams, and is survived by three devoted daughters who thought she was the most beautiful, precious woman in the world: Shannon W. King (Bob, deceased), Cindy W. Philipi (Mike), and Laura Lea Williams.

She is also preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Joe W. Henry, Amy Henry Chapman, James H. Henry, Jack B. Henry, and William C. Henry. She will be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

Martha primarily focused her entire adult life on her girls, especially since Joe was often away, flying 35 years with the TN Air National Guard. She also spent a great deal of time through the years with her church, Hillcrest United Methodist, where she was involved with various clubs that benefitted the community. She enjoyed a monthly, all day card game with friends and shrieking laughter. At one point she took ballroom dancing and always looked like a sparkly princess on the dance floor.

She adored dressing to the nines, every day, even if she wasn't going anywhere. She tried, often in vain, to impart this habit to her daughters, laughing that "beauty must suffer." She was nearly always smiling (never without lipstick!) and sparkled to the very end.

A visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a funeral service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
