Kent Sandidge III, age 91, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Kent was born December 28, 1929 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Kent Sandidge, Jr. and Mildred Adele Regen Sandidge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Paula Faye Conaway Sandidge, MD, grandson Kreston Sky Sandidge, and his sister Suzanne Sandidge Sirls.
He is survived by his children Kent Sandidge IV (Angela), Beth R. Sandidge (Thomas S. Lee Jr), Mark C. Sandidge (Katie), Scott O. Sandidge, and his grandchildren, Madeline Lee, Adele Lee, Kent Sandidge, V, Copeland Sandidge, Cannon Sandidge, Molly Jane Sandidge, and brother Edward Sandidge, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Kent attended Isaac Litton High School. In 1952, he graduated from Vanderbilt University with his Political Science degree, and then enlisted and served in the United States Navy for two years. In 1956, he graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School with his J.D. Kent served as an Assistant U.S. District Attorney in Nashville before being appointed in 1974 to the United States 6th Circuit Court as a Federal Magistrate Judge for Middle Tennessee.
Kent was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, waterskiing, hiking, white water rafting, snow skiing, and traveling. He and Paula loved to travel the globe and they planned their trips around his love of food. He had a special passion for early British sportscars and Labrador Retrievers.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from five until seven o'clock in the evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee, 37204.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at seven o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee, 37204.
