He is survived by his brother, Alan P. Hall (Lois) of Mabelvale, AR; Sister, Janice Gail Franks (Ken) of Eagleville, TN; Nephew, William Kevin Hall (Monica) of South Mill, NC, and several great nieces and great nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Lucille Hagar Hall.
Kenneth grew up in the Woodbine area of Nashville, TN; however, in 1956, his parents purchased property on the Stones River in Donelson, TN. Kenneth and his brother worked tirelessly for 8 years, alongside their parents, building roads, shaping the land, and then finally building the family home on the property.
Kenneth attended Donelson High School, graduating in 1966. After High School he attended college at Middle Tennessee State University and worked for Aladdin Industries. He joined the United States Air Force in 1968. While in the Air Force, he trained to be an Air Traffic Controller. He was stationed for a time at Blytheville Air Force Base, then later served in Vietnam as an Air Traffic Controller for Detachment 11 of the 619th Tactical Control Squadron located on the island of Hon Tre, Vinh Nguyan, Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he worked for the Internal Revenue Service for a short time before being selected as an Air Traffic Control Specialist working for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Kenneth started his career with FAA at the Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) in Hilliard, FL., but worked most of his years with FAA at the Memphis ARTCC. Kenneth later worked for the Department of Defense (DOD) at the Memphis Defense Depot, where he retired.
Kenneth’s interests in his early years were hunting and fishing. As a young adult, he joined the local Nashville Groto chapter of the National Speleological Society (NSS) and began exploring and photographing caves in Tennessee. Kenneth had many other interests, which included meteorology, geology, ufology and astronomy. He was a long term member of the Tennessee Chapter of MUFON and the Memphis Chapter of the American Meteorological Society/National Weather Association. He was trained as a storm spotter for the National Weather Service and enjoyed chasing tornadoes.
Kenneth was happiest when in the company of family, friends, or even a stranger, if he could strike up a good conversation. He always looked forward to family reunions or reunions with past FAA co-workers. He had to work a crossword puzzle and watch an old episode of Gun Smoke every day. In the past year, he moved back into his family home in Donelson, TN where he enjoyed visiting with neighbors and feeding the local wildlife.
