Katie S. Corlew,age 84, was born on October 9, 1927 and passed away from this life on June 26, 2012. Mrs. Corlew was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Randy Corlew of Morristown; daughter, Kathy (Tim) McNutt of Brentwood; grandchildren, Timothy (Amy) McNutt, Gregg Corlew, Jeremy (Christine) McNutt, David McNutt, Natalie Corlew, Evan Corlew and Hannah Corlew. She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Randolph Smith and her mother, Gothie Ozella O’Neal Smith; sisters, Mary Lou Mayes and Cavileen Smith; brothers, Perry R. Smith, John R. Smith, Charlie W. Smith and J. Warren Smith. She loved life and was a constant positive influence on those around her. Even in failing health for some time, she willed herself to live and take care of her ailing husband, Charles D. Corlew, who preceded her in death on March 29, 2012, two days shy of their 56th anniversary. Her mission being completed, she went to rest with him. She worked for Dixie Graphics for over forty years and retired while working for the United Methodist publishing House. She was a member of Glendale United Methodist Church for 56 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 the morning of Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Tim Frizzell and family member officiating. Private family placement will follow in the Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Timothy, Jeremy and David McNutt, Gregg and Evan Corlew. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and grandnephews. In lieu of customary floral tributes, donation in memory of Mrs. Corlew may be made to Willowbrook Hospice of Franklin, 381 Riverside Drive, Suite 440, Franklin, TN 37064. Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Corlew from 3:30 until 5:00 and 6:00until 8:00 the evening of Friday, June 29 and one hour prior to the service at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204, 615-383-4754.
