James Eugene Tohill

James Eugene Tohill, age 95, passed away January 8, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend; a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member; a veteran of WWII; an avid golfer with the Metro Senior Golf Association at McCabe. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Winifred Sullivan Tohill, granddaughter, Joan Gabrielle Tohill; and granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Gale Sharp. He is survived by his children, Mary (Tom) Sharp, Anne (Lee) Colley, Tim (Mary Jane) Tohill, Joan (Rich) McGee, John (Juanita) Tohill, Pat (Dina) Tohill, Laura (Bob) Fellrath, Susie (David) Gilles, Theresa (Chip) Stepanek; 26 Grandchildren, and 20 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ruddle; brother, Bill (Lois) Tohill; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass is Thursday, January 12th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Terrace Mausoleum with grandsons will serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00am-3:00pm Wednesday, January 11th and from 9:30am until time of funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Bernard Abbey, Cullman AL.
