James Mitchell “Mitch” Tenpenny, Jr. – Age 55, passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends on the 25th of May 2014. A man of simplistic reason and strong beliefs left this life with same dignity and strength that he lived by, and that legacy will live on in the hearts of those lives he touched. Preceded in death by his father, James Mitchell Tenpenny, Sr., and sister, Carol Stillings. Survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Debbie Tenpenny; sons, Mitchell Tenpenny and Rafe Tenpenny; mother, Carol Jean Tenpenny; brother, Tony (Robbie) Tenpenny; sister-in-laws, Vickie (Kirk) Arney and Whitney (Richard) Stewart; aunt, Betty Baird; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and lots of friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, the 28th of May 2014 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Dr. Sam Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Those serving as Active Pallbearers include: Rafe Tenpenny, Mitchell Tenpenny, Tony Tenpenny, Donnie Kaylor, Steve Baird, Jay Arney; along with Ira Tenpenny, Richard Rice and Phillip Rice serving as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Tuesday evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home from four o’clock until eight o’clock. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Alive Hospice or Forest Hills Baptist Church.
