Glade (Coach) Arlen Binkley

Glade Arlen (Coach) Binkley, age 78, was born in Nashville, TN on February 8, 1939 and passed away after a short illness on November 17, 2017. He is preceded in death by parents; Dinzil Lloyd and Ruby Harris Binkley, first wife; Pat Stewart, and step daughter; Rhonda Cordell. He is survived by wife; Dona Haley, sister; Faye Coleman, children; Tika Love (Russell), Teresa Freeman, and Scott Binkley, step children; Ronald Burton Drake, Jr. (Melinda), Amy Drake (Denny), ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Glade earned a Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech and a Master’s degree from Auburn. He was an educator for many years teaching in West Palm Beach, FL, Overton High School in Nashville, TN, and at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, TN. He was a member of the Central High School Alumni and a member of the Hope Class at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville.Celebration of Life Service will be officiated by Ronnie Pittenger on Tuesday, the 21st of November at two-thirty in the afternoon in Woodawn’s Dignity Hall, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Gathering of family and friends will be this evening, Monday, the 20th of November from five to eight in the evening and one hour prior to service on Tuesday. Glade was truly an earth angel and now a heavenly angel. Glade loved us all and gave us all he had. He will be missed greatly.
