MOORE, Gerald Lynn, Dr. a retired professor of music for 32 years at Lipscomb University. Born Feb 2, 1939 in Dallas, TX died Feb 11, 2010. Proceeded in death by son, Barry Lee Moore, survived by wife of 49 years, Barbara. Sons Scott (Sherry) Moore & Brent (MariLynn) Moore. Grandsons Devon Moore and Austin Moore. Army Veteran with honorable discharge. Gerald was chairman of Lipscomb University Music Dept. 1995-1997. Currently he was senior adjunct teacher at Lipscomb University. Gerald was founder & director of Nashville Early Music Ensemble, co-director of Nashville Double Reeds, & a member of the Bellevue Community Chorus. He received many music grants & travel awards. Gerald was a hymnbook editor & published arrangements of Shakespeare, Native American Songs and over 70 Choral arrangements. Gerald was American Recorder Society Level iii teacher. Honorary pallbearers: current and retired Faculty at Lipscomb University, Elders and Deacons of Crieve Hall Church of Christ.
