In 1957, George married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Wilson in Miami, FL. Together they built a beautiful, God-centered life filled with love, laughter and their daughter Cheryl. He loved all things sports and was an avid baseball player, bowler, and golfer. Much of his time was spent on the ballfield coaching the next generation of ball players and teaching Cheryl to embrace the love of the game.
After moving to Nashville, TN in 1974, George began a career in sales training with Combined Insurance, where he had the opportunity to mentor and help others to become the best version of themselves. He dedicated many years of his life to helping others and in service to his faith, church, and family.
George was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His legacy is carried on by his adored grandchildren: Kimberly, Nathan and Leighanne, his great-grandchildren: Micaela, Aidan, Cullen, Drake, Krista, Adam and Lilly and many great-greats.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, his mother Doris, and father, Charles, he leaves behind a sister Doris (Robinson), daughter Cheryl (Gary), and many grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, July 22, 2024 and 12:00pm to 1:00pm Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with the service immediately following at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, TN 37204.
