Elsie H. Johnson

JOHNSON, Elsie Hildur. 81 years old, Nashville, TN. Passed away July 24, 2011. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Hildur Larson, and brother, Henry Larson. Elsie is survived by her loving and devoted husband Alvin L. Johnson; children, David "Doc" Johnson, Linda (David) Cartwright, Laura (Paul) San Nicolas; grandchildren, Daniel and Patrick Cartwright, Michael, Catherine and Mitchell San Nicolas, Zachary Johnson; brother, George (Charlotte) Larson; sister-in-law, Jackie (Hank) Larson; nieces, Valerie Larson, Renee Hadala, Sandra Snyder and Suzanne Goldthorp; nephew, Jimmy Larson. Elsie was an active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Donelson for over 50 years. She was a member of WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America), Music City Quilt Guild and the Hill City South Dakota Heart of the Hills Quilt Guild and the Middle TN Gem and Mineral Society. Elsie was a former long time Girl Scout Leader in Davidson County, TN. Elsie is a retired Registered Nurse and her last nursing position was in the Baptist Hospital Intensive Care Unit Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Reverend Rick Roberts officiating. Interment to follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers are members of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Honorary Pallbearers are members of WELCA and Music City Quilt Guild. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home and Monday 2 hours prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Elsie’s memory to St. Johns Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 3259 McGavock Pike Nashivlle, TN 37214 or to the animal shelter of your choice.
